UN World Food Programme Internship - Monitoring Intern, (ME&VAM) Kigali Jobs in Rwanda
About WFP The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
Background and Purpose of the Assignment: Rwanda is a low-income, least-developed country with a population of 11.2 million people, of whom 52 percent are women and girls and 48 percent men and boys. WFP Rwanda helps the government enhance the national capacity to manage and innovate, but also to tackle more immediate humanitarian needs and provide a path to self-reliance, ensuring no one is left behind while facilitating national ownership. WFP is increasingly transitioning from humanitarian action into development and humanitarian nexus efforts to create links and make greater impact.
