The Uganda National Oil Company Limited (Unoc) Is Recruiting

The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) Ltd was established under the Petroleum
(Exploration, Development and Production) Act and the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion,
Transmission and Midstream storage) Act, both of 2013 and incorporated under the
Companies’ Act, 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of
Uganda.

The overall function of UNOC is to handle the State’s commercial interests in the Oil
and Gas industry and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner.

UNOC now invites applications from persons interested to develop their career with a
dynamic results-oriented Company to occupy the following position:

Job Title:

Information and Data Management Assistant

Reports to:

Information and Data Management Officer

Job Purpose:

Support the implementation of the Company’s Information

Management (IM) Policy, custody of company records and documents and ensure smooth retrieval of documents as and when required.

Essential Duties

Support the implementation of an Electronic Document Management System.

Support the implementation of the Company’s Information Management Policy.

Support the embedment of IM Policy.

Manage the Records and Archive centres in line with the IM Policy and guidelines

Manage company reference library.

Support the development of appropriate training materials to facilitate compliance
awareness.

Continuously assess space and security requirements of current and archived company
documents and records.

Maintain company document register with quick links to electronic data management
system for ease of retrieval.

Track In-Coming and Out-Going Communications for the company on a daily basis.

Support the process of tracking actions from all correspondences and ensure that they
are closed.

Update KPIs for Data and Information Management.

Qualifications and attributes:

Honours

Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science, Computer Science or
other related field.

Working knowledge of both manual and electronic document control systems.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement and electronic document control system

Experience in establishing Information Management processes

Excellent organizational skills

At least three (3) year’s work experience in Information Management in a busy and
reputable organisation.

Advanced MS office skills is a must have.
