Uganda Electricity Generation Company Internal Auditor – Technical Jobs in Uganda

Job Summary:

Review, evaluate and contribute to the improved effectiveness of risk management, control and
governance processes and perform Technical audit assignments as directed by the supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and effectively implement audit plans and programs in support of company goals.

Critical review of the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommending necessary improvements.

Carry out special audit investigations in the Company as assigned.

Coordinate the audit of value for money for projects and assignments undertaken by the Company.

Provide support to the preparation and realization of the audit plans and preparation /presentation of audit reports.

Oversee the respective conducted audits to conclusive resolution and accountability of matters of attention.

Develop and implement an appropriate compliance monitoring framework to ensure compliance with internal policies, laws and regulations by the Business Units to enable them achieve compliance in their processes.

Identify compliance gaps and ensure timely and effective communication to the relevant business process owners.

Institute an appropriate reporting mechanism and follow up of corrective actions to be taken to ensure their effective execution.

Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of operations and promoting continuous improvement, Assess compliance with the set policies, procedures, standards, technical specifications as well as best practices

Review and analyze Internal System Audit procedures and associated risks and suggest
mitigation measures for risks identified;

Ascertain extent to which process goals and objectives have been established and conform to those of UEGCL.

Review processes to ascertain extent to which results are consistent with

goals and objectives and are performed as intendedPrepare timely, clear, and well-written reports of audit results to Supervisor.

Advising and influencing senior management to take appropriate steps to strengthen the governance, risk management and internal control

Environment.

Coordinate external audits and follow up on implementation of recommendations with relevant stakeholders

Education and Professional Requirements:

An upper second Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree

Proficiency in Auditing and Compliance Management

Part qualification in accounting with relevant professional body such as CIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA is an added advantage

Member of relevant professional bodies is added advantage

Related Job Experience:

3 years’ experience working on relevant Technical engagements and related projects with
ability to demonstrate quality assurance acumen and demonstrable ability to lead engagements

Additional Skills/Competences:

Analytical, testing and sampling skills

Professionalism

Knowledge of Audit Strategy.

Knowledge of Audit Methodology and scope:

Understanding Risk, Control and Governance

Management of Audits skills

Excellent Reporting skills

Computer & IT competencies

Articulate communicator and excellent report writing
