Job Summary:

Ensure that the Electrical elements in the power plant run smoothly to generate power by checking electrical machines and machine components, testing their efficiency and making repairs wherever necessary and suggesting improvements to machines for better performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain 24/7 Plant power generation operation while focusing on safe, efficient, reliable maintenance and operation of equipment to ensure quality power supply to the Grid.

Electrical troubleshooting with objective of preventive maintenance and Repair of AC and DC Drives, PLC Troubleshooting etc.

Execution of the preventative maintenance programs, as shall be instructed by the electrical engineer.

Ready to work in continuous improvement culture in the maintenance of the power plant using engineering principles.

Dismantle, rectify and assemble equipment parts for the proposed failed machines in accordance with the manual under supervision of the electrical engineer.

Keep plant/equipment performance and repair records to enable quality Assessment.

Works hands on with Electrical technician in all aspects of their work including following the LOTOTO procedure in carrying out maintenance activities.

Serves as a key resource for safety related issues with the goal of meeting/exceeding OSHA requirements for a safe workplace

Properly use company facilities and tools in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Promote housekeeping at all levels in workplaces.

Participate in all Preventive Maintenance

activities (PMS) for all electrical/mechanical
machines.

Examine and test electrical power distribution machinery and equipment, using testing devices.

Education and Professional Requirements:

• Craft Certificate 1 and 2 in Electrical or Electronic engineering

Related Job Experience/Qualification:

A minimum of 3 years working experience at a power plant, heavy manufacturing Industry, processing plant, a major repair workshop or similar work places are needed for this position

Additional Skills:

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work under stress and be on call at any time.

• Good leadership, communication and motivation skills.

• Ability to work in a team hands on as well as lead it.

• Skilled in motor rewinding and associated installation/fabrication works.

• Good computer skills in related software application
