Uganda Cancer Institute Consultant (Pediatric Surgery) Jobs

Job Purpose:

To manage the efficient delivery of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology services in the Institute.

Qualification:

MBChB Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

Master of Medicine Degree in Pediatrics and Child Health or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

Sub-specialisation/Fellowship in Paediatric Surgery

Registration with the Uganda Medical and Dental
Practitioners Council.

Working experience of not less than six (6) years at specialist level, three (3) of which must be at the level of Medical Officer Special Grade (Pediatrics Surgery)

Key competencies

The incumbent should have competences in: Planning, organizing and coordinating; Financial Management; Human Resource Management; Change Management; Coaching and mentoring; Effective communication; Knowledge management; Ethics and Integrity; Leadership; Team work and Time management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide clinical care of all children and adolescents within the specific area of assignment in line with best practices

Conduct research in Paediatric and adolescent cancer and blood diseases

Conduct education and training of cadres of health workers in area of Paediatrics and adolescents including but not limited to fellows, graduate students, undergraduate medical students

Support of the department of Paediatric and
adolescent Haematology and oncology at regional
cancer centers

Participate in refinement and execution of the
Paediatric and adolescent national cancer control
plan

Attract and support strategic collaborations between UCI and national/international partners in line with the UCI strategy
