Context/ScopeUganda Breweries Ltd operates in a highly competitive market dominated by various domestic and imported brands. In a stiff competitive business UBL’s vision is to become the leading beverage industry.
It is therefore paramount to have the products in abundance to enable prompt delivery to her customers.
To achieve this the plant must be well maintained using the latest modern maintenance techniques so that plant and machinery are availed all the time to support the manufacturing process and drive out cost to invest in growth.
The Engineering Department is responsible for asset care of the Plant and Equipment within UBL. They ensure that these remain in good condition and deliver required outputs.
This role works closely with Engineering Manager and Operations Department Managers.

Market Complexity:
It is essential to continuously improve the performance of the maintenance planning function. This will reduce costs by increasing plant operating efficiencies, thus maximizing on profits.
Achievement of reasonable returns to providers of capital requires that volumes and market share must be grown and productions costs must be reduced whilst improving production, sales and distribution efficiencies.
The integrity of the Maximo database is key to the delivery of results and the jobholders liaise closely with IS&T to ensure plant and equipment data is accurate and reliable.
Delivering results in liaison with diverse teams and departments
Leadership Responsibilities:
This position works within the Engineering management team assisting in achievement of departmental goals and targets.
Purpose of Role:
To provide in-house expertise for the support of the
computerized system for Maintenance Planning (Maximo)
To review integrity of Maximo data in liaison with IS&T
Top Accountabilities
Ensuring Asset Care Integrity. This involves ensuring that information on SAP is correct and equipment registers are up to date.
Scheduling and updating Plant Maintenance tasks and carrying out reviews. Ensuring that System plant maintenance tasks are closed out. Development of weekly reports and budgets.
Contributing to the Asset Care Strategy. Ensuring that there is effective stock management in relation to spares required for routine maintenance.
Organising and managing the planning for the availability of maintenance spares. Analyzing and reporting of all maintenance trends
Enable compliance and continual improvement in engineering section to take into consideration QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health and Environment) through appropriate support of all EMS/OHS programmes on site.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Qualifications
Diploma in Engineering
Recognized qualification in Computers /Information Technology necessary.
Experience
3 Years experience in the Brewing Industry.
Understanding of ISO 9002 Quality System.
Understanding of Brewing, Packaging, Plant maintenance and Quality Control.
