Job PurposeThe Manager Cabin Services is a senior leadership role within Flight Operations Department and the airline.
He/She oversees the scheduling and supervision of flight attendants to ensure that company flights are operated to the highest safety standards.
The office bearer also has training and supervisory responsibility for Cabin Crews across the airline.
Roles and Responsibilities
Set the strategic agenda for Cabin Services and communicates this strategy through the department.
Links departmental strategy with the corporate goals and ensures alignment.
Overall responsibility and accountability for the performance of the department.
Sets standards for delivery of service excellence and ensures it is maintained through management team.
Sets the standard of performance and ensures it is maintained through the management team.
Ensures safe operations and that all safety standards are maintained.
Advises the Director Flight Operations on all cabin safety and related issues.
Develops training programs through CCM T&S, especially where sub-contracted, and ensures that these programs are in accordance with the operations manual part D.
Establish service and management policy for the Cabin Crew team.
Provide leadership to cabin crew and ensure the highest levels of safety, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency in line with Company manuals/policies and within legal constraints.
Maintain a high standard of services on board to passengers.
Maintain a positive image of the company through cabin crew grooming, uniform and customer service standards.
Design and implement training for cabin crews for excellent communication on board.
Prepare Cabin Crew Manuals in compliance with CAA regulations.
Participate in the recruitment of cabin crew.
Manage and supervise cabin crews, including enforcing the company’s standard operating procedures, dress code/uniform and grooming.
Implement staff appraisal systems and assess feedback to cabin crew on performance and recommend training and other corrective measures.
Ensure correct records are kept by the CCM on cabin crew member performance that these records comply with legislation.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
Holder or ought to have held a Cabin Crew License.
At least 7 years’ experience of operating as a Cabin Crew preferably at the level of a purser, 3 years at managerial level.
Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Excellent management, administration, analytical and organisational skills.
Possess instructor experience
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work across cross-functional teams.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Self-driven with ability to deliver results at a strategic and operational level.
Previous experience in long haul, wide body operation, will be an added advantage.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; knowledge of Swahili, French or other international languages and long haul experience will be of added advantage.
Has excellent report writing ability.
Must be a proficient user of computers
