Vacancies

The County Assembly of Uasin Gishu in pursuant to section 155(5) of the Public Finance Management Act 2012 and regulations No. 167(1) of the Public Finance Management Regulations 2015; is in the process of establishing an Audit Committee whose responsibilities and roles are as spelt out by the Regulations.

The County Assembly Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified Kenyans for the positions of:

Chair, County Assembly Audit Committee

Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should have a minimum of a degree from a recognized university and have knowledge and experience of not less than 7 years in:
  • Financial Management
    Audit
  • Accounting in Public Service or devolved system of government
  • Risk management
    Must be affiliate to professional bodies e.g. ICPAK, ICPSK, ACFE, LSK, IIA, IEK and in good standing

    Other Requirements

  • Chair of the Audit Committee shall:
  • Have a good understanding of the County Governments operations, financial management and reporting or auditing;
  • Have a good understanding of the objects, principles and functions of the County Government;
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;

    Please Note That:

  • Chair of the Audit Committee shall serve on part-time basis for a period of three Years.
  • The allowances payable shall be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
  • A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a Chair of Audit committee if the persons:
  • Is a
    past or present employee of County Government of Uasin Gishu;
  • Has served as an employee or an agent of a business organization which has carried out any business with County Government of Uasin Gishu for the last two years.
