Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry grade into the Orthopaedic Technologists cadre.

Work at this level is of limited scope and complexity and is carried out under the supervision of a more senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities involve provision of Orthopaedic Technology services which entails: Assessing, Diagnosing, Prescribing, designing, fabricating, fitting, user training and maintenance of prosthetic and orthotic devices.

In addition, the Officer is expected to assess patients’ needs, verify and maintain information relating to patients, order and maintain records of supplies.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Orthopaedic Technologist III, a candidate must have:

A Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology or an equivalent approved qualification from a recognized institution.

A membership certificate from the National Professional Association.

Certificate in Computer Applications
