Traidcraft Exchange is an international development charity which uses the power of trade to bring about lasting solutions to poverty.
It runs development programmes in South Asia and Africa, works directly with businesses to improve their supply chains and does advocacy and campaigning in the UK to promote justice and fairness in international trade.
This is a temporal contract to conduct a Mid-term assessment for one of our development projects being implement in Tanzania.
The overall objective of the assessment is to assess progress to date; re-evaluate the approaches of the project implementation; re-evaluate the effectiveness of implementation approaches; identify constraints and/or opportunities which have emerged during the two years of implementation; and to identify and document lessons learnt.
Required Skills and Experience
To carry out the above detailed task Traidcraft Exchange is looking for an evaluator with the following skills:
Understanding and experience in the sector or general development experience
Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation including ability to design, digitize and implement primary
research tools and processes.
Experience in project management
Interpersonal skills and ability to talk to people in different backgrounds and roles
Ability and experience of using interactive, participatory techniques in monitoring and evaluation
Analytical skills and ability to synthesise and summarise huge volumes of data
Knowledge and experience of working with people with disability will be an added advantage
Evidence of good report writing
Good written and spoken English
Good spoken Kiswahili
Proposal Assessment Criteria
Traidcraft Exchange will look into the following areas in assessing the quality of the proposal submitted by the bidding consultants.
Qualification, skills and experience of the consultant
Clarity of understanding of the task at hand as described in consultants’ own words
Quality and relevance of methodology proposed
Value for money including comparison of proposed costs and methodology
You must have work permit to work in Tanzania
