TradeMark East Africa Director of Audit & Assurance Vacancies in Kenya

Introduction

Through CA Trade Exciting Opportuninty to lead our Internal audit & assuarance unit TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) is funded by a range of development agencies with the aim of growing prosperity in EastAfrica through trade.We believe that enhanced trade contributes to economic growth, a reduction in poverty and subsequently increased prosperity.

TMEA is now the largest aid-for-trade facility in the world and we have vibrant and successful country programmes in Kenya, Rwanda,Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, and South Sudan.The first phase of TMEA has delivered exceptional results which have directly contributed to substantial gains in East Africa's trade and regional integration environment in terms of reduced transit times, improved border efficiency, and reduced barriers to trade. The second phase, which started in mid-20 I 7, aims to deliver even more large-scale impact to maximise the potential benefits of aid-for-trade interventions.

Responsibilities

Providing a high quality internal audit service to TMEA which meets recognised international standards and which adds value to TMEA.

S/he will provide independent and objective assurance to theTMEA Council, the Board of Director and the Chief Executive Officer on the overall adequacy and effectiveness of TMEA's arrangements for governance, risk management, and internal control.

who will seek opportunities for internal audit to add value to, rather than police,TMEA.

You will be able to balance the highest ethical standards and utmost rigour with an understanding of TMEA's operating environment and our zeal for delivering results for the people of East Africa.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant undergraduate degree with qualified professional membership of an internal audit or accountancy body.

You will have at least 10 years' relevant work experience in a challenging work environment;

A successful track record in internal audit management;

extensive experience of influencing, giving professional advice to, and building productive working relationships with senior colleagues.
