Tour and Travel Consultant Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Our client, a Tours and Travel company in Nairobi is seeking to hire a Tour and Travel Consultant.

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Salary: KShs 20,000 – 30,000

Main Roles

Responding to inquiries regarding hotels & safaris within 24hrs

Create and sell innovative tour packages to meet market demand

Prepare itineraries to the various destinations of interest

Making flight quotations and follow-ups

Ensuring payment for each tour booking is received in advance or proper authorization is received from a corporate prior to credit sale

Creating contact with hotels, car hire, sightseeing attraction and other service providers for best competitive contract rates

Ensure bookings that do not mature are cancelled in time to avoid cancellation penalties especially for hotels

Ensure clients’ special requests especially on accommodation & room specification, driver guide language, meals and others are catered for

Coordinating with other team in arranging flying & ground packages

Ensuring that tours quotations are competitive

Research various destinations and means of travel regarding prices, customs and weather conditions.

Plan, Organize and modify international and domestic travel itineraries.

Book Tickets, reserve accommodation and

organize transportation

Requirements

Degree/Diploma in Tours and Travel Management or any hospitality related course

Prior experience working with Aberdares or Galileo

Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage

Exemplary sales skills and customer-oriented approach

Good Organizational & Time management skills.

Demonstrable ability to handle crises.

Must be patient, respectful, and empathetic with clients acting professionally at all times.

Ability to book flights both domestic and international.

Must be able to adhere to deadlines and perform high quality work under minimal supervision.
