Job DescriptionThe Lutheran World Federation Word Service Ethiopia (LWF/WS Ethiopia) is a registered foreign charity which has been operating in Ethiopia since 1973 implementing various development and humanitarian projects in different parts of Ethiopia.
LWF is currently looking for a highly motivated and competent professional to fill in the following post of Emergency Response Team Leader (Livestock Health Background – DVM).
Key Responsibilities:
She/he shall:
Involve in beneficiary selection and verification
Introduce and demonstrate animal feed use and livestock management to the beneficiaries
Introduce forage development strategies
Train frontline extension staff and community development promoters and farmers on animal diseases control
Suggest essential veterinary drugs and facilitate animal treatment together with government staff
Collaborate with project staff and relevant government organizations on how to control animal diseases incidences and on the feed distribution process
Prepare training manuals on livestock feed utilization and animal treatment and provide/conduct training on livestock production and management.Collect data on livestock resource of the project area.Carry out post distribution survey
Manage and facilitate animal feed distribution
Prepare and submit reports directly to the
Regional Project Coordinator regularly.

Job Requirements
Qualification:
DVM or Bachelor or Masters Degree in Livestock Health or related field of study from a recognized university with minimum of 1 year of relevant experience for Bachelor and 0 year for DVM or Masters
Additional requirement:
Good command of the English language and Oromiffa which is the local language of the beneficiaries
Rich expertise in animal health and improved livestock feed promotion
Computer literate
Other job related training
