About the PositionThe Project Coordinator, ASCEND is in charge of overseeing the ASCEND project and other NTD program activities in the zone.
S/he provide support to the zonal health department and woreda health offices in the zone to strengthen the implementation of the World Health Organisation (WHO) endorsed Surgery, Antibiotics, Facial cleanliness and Environmental improvements (SAFE) strategy for the elimination of blinding trachoma as well as other NTDs.
Specific responsibilities include
Support the development of NTD annual implementation plans for the zone in collaboration with the Zonal Health Department NTD teams and advocate for appropriate resource allocation within the Zone and woreda health offices annual budget.
Coordinate, supervise and provide technical assistance for the implementation of SAFE strategy in all woredas of the zone.
Provide technical assistance to woredas to incorporate all FHF initiatives and programs in woreda based planning and closely work with them for effective implementation.
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, we are seeking someone with the following experience and skills.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in public health, eye care or disease prevention and control programs.
Bachelors degree in relevant field
(Public Health, Social sciences, International development or related fields) from a recognized institution.
Knowledge of program design, program management, budget development and monitoring of Trachoma programs.
Knowledge of Resource mobilization and management.
