Project Summary:
The USAID/Zambia Education Data Activity is a 3.5-year contract implemented by DevTech Systems, Inc. and its subcontractor, Management Systems International (MSI), that supports USAID/Zambia’s goal to monitor and track USAID’s Let’s Read Zambia program through effective data management, research, and evaluation.
The Education Data Activity offers the opportunity to measure a specific learning intervention (Let’s Read Zambia) over time as well as to strengthen the capacity of the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) and the Ministry of General Education (MOGE) to track and collect data to improve learning outcomes. MSI is responsible for supporting two Early Grade Reading Assessments (EGRA) for children in grade 2. This will include EGRA tool adaptation, enumerator training and oversight, and
data processing and analysis. MSI will also participate in capacity development for ECZ.
Position Summary:
The EGRA Data Analyst will provide support to the preparation of an EGRA workshop being provided to members of ECZ. They will provide data cleaning, analysis and processing support and will provide training in the use of STATA to government officials. This position reports to the Technical Director on the project.
Responsibilities:
Prepare training material before the launch of the workshop.
Work side by side with the Senior Psychometrician consultant and provide parallel training in the use of STATA for EGRA data analysis.
Provide support in the data cleaning, analysis, and processing of information after the workshops;
Carry out other supporting tasks for the workshop as required.
Coordinate with the Technical Director on matters relating to the event.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Statistics or a related field required.
Minimum of five years of experience working on EGRA datasets preferred.
Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in STATA required.
Flexibility and established capacity to adapt to change.
Fluency in English required.
