Telkom Kenya IT Specialist: Database Administration Job Vacancies
Role Purpose: Under the direction of Technology Manager – IT Systems Support, the Database Administrator is responsible for capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.
Responsibilities
Installing and upgrading the enterprise databases (Oracle, MySQl, MS-SQL) and application tools
Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system and servers
Creating primary database storage structures after application developers have designed an application
Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application
Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers
Ensuring compliance with Oracle and MSSQL license agreement
Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
Maintaining archived data on tape or EMC Data Domain Backup system
Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support when required
Patch Management and Version Control
Provisioning storage to servers
Check performance of some key, custom, long running reports and processes.
Check some key Oracle statistics like buffer hits, dictionary hits, sorts to memory/disk.
Qualifications
Relevant Bachelor’s degree in BBIT, Information Technology, Engineering or any-related technical degree from a recognized institution
2-6 years relevant experience in a similar position
Knowledge of the telecommunications industry will be an added advantage
Networking skills to form collaborative partnerships

Telkom Kenya Key Account Manager- Public Sector Job Vacancies
Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Public Sector, the job holder will be required to implement and drive the sales strategy and action plans for the sales and distribution of Telkom product and services for Public Sector Enterprise customers. Furthermore, he/she must facilitate and enable the meeting of sales targets and revenue margins across the customer network within Public Sector
Responsibilities
Achieve the sales targets through new and existing business.
Contribute to the cost savings target of the business
Forecast and monitor sales for current and new customers
Monitor the profitability for customers and propose the appropriate plans
Build and maintain relationships with customers. Conduct joint customer meetings to drive volumes and profitability.
Develop business plan, lead the sales pitch and negotiate the contractual agreements based on the set guidelines
Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the customer business
Conduct analysis of customer, customers and sales metrics, costs and categories to inform business decisions
Ensure the effective management of the customer account and timeous problem solving
Forecast and maintain sales plans and stock levels (if required) with customers.
Ensure the accuracy of the first bill as per the signed agreement
Develop and recommend business plans in conjunction with customers and customers to drive business growth
Act as the key interface between the customer and all relevant divisions for on boarding and ongoing interactions
Analyse business and market information to inform sales decisions
Continuously ensure alignment with marketing, branding and communications procedures
and identify training requirements (where applicable)
Utilise and align internal business processes and systems to execute sales and ensure operational efficiency
Regularly engage with customer to plan and execute marketing interventions
Qualifications
Relevant Business degree in Sales, Marketing or Economics, MBA would be an added advantage
3 - 5 years’ experience in Marketing Management, Sales management, Relationship management
Experience in high dollar value consultative selling and relationship management preferably within major accounts
Strong Leadership and Internal Stakeholder Management Skills
Excellent in communication, presentation, business reporting, competitive proposal writing and negotiation skills
High end sales generation and closing ability
Ability to project a strong, positive image of him/herself and the Company
Strong Organizational & Planning Skills

Telkom Kenya Business Analyst Job Vacancies
Role Purpose:
This position is responsible for managing efficient and effective end to end implementation of voice price lists, voice traffic routing, billing (both voice and data) and service quality management in accordance with the set standards and processes. He/She will also be responsible for analyzing and reporting relevant departmental performance measurements for decision making across the department on tactical and operational levels (Business KPIs, Objectives and Business Intelligence).
Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor billing tasks from sales, service delivery and IT teams.
Prepare accurate and timely billing schedules and invoices for voice and data services(Hubbing, Transit, Kenya Terminating, Backbone, Cross connections, IRU,VSAT, Collocation ,and other services)
Develop, deploy and Manage Supplier inventory system for capacity and collocation service providers.
Ensure seamless engagement with relevant stakeholders.
Provide a support service for the execution and management of sales orders and billing for the department.
Identify and implement optimization opportunities for processes and procedures across the department to optimize cost and support efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, BBIT, Business Management or a related field from a recognized Institution.
Skills in Databases (Oracle/MYSQL) and UNIX scripting.
Skills web programming
Good knowledge of telecom industry with preferably good understanding of Interconnect, roaming and billing.
2- 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence, Project management and Process Optimization.
Good experience in project management
