Program DescriptionTechnoServe is implementing the USAID funded Alliance for Inclusive and Nutritious Food Processing (AINFP) regional program in collaboration with Partners in Food Solutions (PFS).
The program leverages the power of the private sector to create better nutritional outcomes for base-of-the-pyramid consumers and more profitable market opportunities for local farmers.
This is achieved by supporting local food processing companies in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Ethiopia through remote technical assistance and training from world leading food processing companies under PFS to increase the availability of safe, affordable and nutritious food.
Position DescriptionThrough this Partnership the AINFP program seeks to deliver Sector Wide Trainings (SWTs) in Ethiopia covering industry best practices in targeting systemic constraints and challenges.
The Sector Wide Trainings will be offered to Food processors and related industry stakeholders, bringing industry actors together and encouraging closer dialogue, knowledge sharing, and awareness across the sector. AINFP Program seeking to recruit Short-Term Technical Food Processing Experts in one or more of the following areas:
Instructional Design and Training Media Production
Training Material and Media Translation from English to Amharic
Food Safety and Quality Standards
Good Manufacturing Practices
Access to Finance for Food processors
Nutrition and Fortification
Engineering
New Product Development
Supply Chain Operations
Food Manufacturing
Marketing and Branding
Financial Operations
Specifically, the Technical Experts will:
Master the AINFP Training methodology through
a Training of Trainers workshop
Facilitate the preparation and delivery of Local Sector Wide Trainings
Support the development of training content using appropriate adult learning pedagogy
Provide mentorship and guidance to select food processors to ensure knowledge adoption and behaviour change
Provide impact evaluation and reporting of the trainings conducted
Job Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent in Food Science/Nutrition and other relevant field or a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience
At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in their field of expertise
Fluency in English is preferred, Amharic or Swahili an added advantage
Excellent oral and written communication skill
Excellent facilitation and practical training experience in developing countries
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), as well as worker safety
Experience in training of trainers in food quality management systems and certification
Proven experience in adult learning pedagogy is an added advantage
Experience working independently and managing/marketing training events
Excellent computer skills
