We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Public Policy Advisor to join our West Africa Team. In this role, you will be involved in the scale up and implementation of advocacy responses within a West Africa support context. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has proven ability in research, public policy influencing, lobbying, or campaigning, and who can also work on their own initiative with minimum supervision.

Our work in West Africa includes a range of projects with local Christian NGOs and churches. The Public Policy Advisor works closely with each country office in the West Africa Region (Burkina Faso, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone) to build the capacity of Tearfund staff, partners and churches across the region to advocate in their respective contexts.

You will have experience in:

Community engagement and working with grassroots partner organisations

Capacity building in advocacy

Lobbying or campaigning

You will have the ability to:

Design, rollout and evaluate capacity building initiatives for grassroot organisations.

Use evidence-based messages to influence organisations, decision makers and communities to make or change policies, resource allocation decisions to improve the well being of

marginalized communities.

Communicate fluently in English (both written and verbally) as well as good working knowledge of French (both written and verbally)

Salary and benefits will be dependent on location as this is not an expatriate position.
