TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Limited is a Water Service Provider that was incorporated under the companies Act so as to serve the residents of Taita Taveta County, to achieve this we need to strengthen our manpower.

We therefore invite applications from
suitable qualified and experienced candidates with excellent credentials to fill the position of Managing Director.

Key Tasks

  • Coordinate formulation and implementation of corporate policies
  • Spearhead the strategic thrust
  • Monitor and improve financial performance
  • Spearhead strategic development projects
  • Facilitate development of new programs
  • Develop vision for the future and mobilize staff to apply skill, knowledge, competences,
  • Efforts and resources towards attainment of the vision
  • Coordinate policy-making management and Board meetings
  • Direct and co-ordinate the Company’s operation and overall administration so as to ensure that the various organs of the company operate in conformity with the overall operation plans and performance targets
  • Communicate with departments to disseminate plans and key decisions with a view to gaining their commitment in implementing them.
  • Set systematic, measureable, Accurate realistic and time bound (Smart) objectives for individual managers and teams
  • Facilitate staffing, training and development of employees
  • Review achievement of objectives against agreed targets
  • Inspire quality work and support to deliver excellent performance.
  • Institute legal actions on behalf of the Company
  • Defend the company against legal actions
  • Perform social and ceremonial duties
  • Execute contracts and deeds on behalf of the company
  • Keep custody of the Company’s corporate seal
  • Host public relations functions to promote corporate image and business programs of the company
  • Maintain a network with company’s stakeholders
  • Represent the company in luncheons, dinners and other public functions
  • Meet and/or receive MDs/CEOs and VIPs from other institutions
  • Develop and maintain good public relation with the community, stakeholders and the Government.
  • Monitor progress made on corporate plans of TAVEVO Company
  • Authorize expenditure above the threshold approved by the board
  • Review operational performance of departments
  • Verify budgetary estimates of departments
  • Monitor staffs’ behavior and welfare and address critical issues which may disrupt company activities.
  • Production and distribution of water
  • Disseminate critical information to various departments
  • Transmit information to individuals and work groups on performance
  • Prepare annual report to stakeholders
  • Chair staff meetings and communicate key issues
  • Changing the culture within the company to cooperate with the private sector principles and participation.
  • Assess the environment to identify the potential opportunities and threats to the company business
  • Facilitate actions for responding to the needs of customers and general public
  • Facilitate programs for reviewing organization structure, systems and processes to deliver organizational excellence
  • Initiate programs for improving
    revenue base
  • Initiate sound cost management programs
  • Recommend to the board critical changes in policies, systems and programs
  • Initiate and build proactive actions to forestall impending disturbances and or crises of staff, community, stakeholders and shareholders
  • Develop systems of dialogue to minimizes chances of conflict
  • Review the strategies, objectives and policies to remove potentials of conflict.
  • Build an affirmative on sexual harassment policies.
  • Allocate corporate resources equitably between various activities of the company
  • Review budgets to address changing needs of the company.
  • Reschedule programs to conform to new business demands
  • Initiate and spearhead implementation of the company strategic plan
  • Represent the company in negotiating favorable agreements

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • A Bachelors’ Degree in Civil/Water Engineering, Business related field or Equivalent.
  • Post-Graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Masters' Degree in any relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Membership of a professional body.
  • Management Training will be an added advantage.
  • At least Five (5) years post qualification experience, Three (3) of which should be in senior management level in a busy
    organization.
  • Proficiency in computer operations skills and techno savvy.

  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
  • Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
