About Takataka Solutions Ltd.Takataka Solutions Ltd is a social enterprise and the largest waste management and recycling company in Kenya. We are fully vertically integrated and are active in: waste collection, sorting at material recovery facilities, composting of organic waste, buying materials from waste workers at dumpsites, plastic recycling and hazardous waste incineration.
Our average recycling rate is 90%, which is one of the highest recycling rates in the world. We have been operating since 2011, manage more than 2,500 tons of waste every month and employ more than 500 staff. We also help more than 300 informal waste workers in the circular economy increase their income by at least 50%.
Summary of Role: -
We are looking for a welder. Your role will be mainly to repair and maintain our plastic recycling machines, enabling us to achieve communicated targets and implementing new projects.
Responsibilities: -
Make material lists for new projects (including sketches and create job cards)
Work in compliance with the health and safety standards
Repair machines and weld/make new machines and equipment
Test the repair/fabricated machines together with the operating team
Repair and build belt-conveyors
Fit and Assemble metal parts
Weld windows, gates, door frames and expanded metal walls...
Fabricate pipe holdings, chain covers and weld steam pipes.
Repair company Mabati structures
Dismantle faulty machines/tools and assemble/repair/replace defective parts.
Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools.
Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
Align
and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
Hammer, chip, and grind work pieces in order to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
Locate and mark work piece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
Tack-weld fitted parts together.
Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
Design and construct templates and fixtures, using hand tools.
Qualifications
Relevant experience related to the job is a must.
At least KCSE minimum grade of (C+) and above.
High level of precision and keen to details.
Being able of complex thinking.
Ability to handle relevant machine and equipment related to the job. i.e. Welding machines, Grinder, Drilling machines etc.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
