Position
Taam Cab is seeking a head of operations.

Reporting
The head of operations will report to the managing director of Taam Cab.

Job Overview
The head of operations will be responsible for managing Taam Cab’s fleet of drivers. This will include training them, making sure they have the necessary documents, and dealing with any issues that arise.

The head of operations will also be responsible for expanding our fleet of drivers, and will work closely with other departments such as marketing and tech to improve the business.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

Establish partnerships with taxi unions
Recruit new drivers to work with Taam Cab
Train drivers on using the Taam Cab app, customer service, map reading and other relevant skill sets

Create training programs and onboard training staff as necessary

Deal with any incidents that may arise in the course of business

Ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations

Obtain licenses for operating the business as necessary

Manage

the operations team as Taam Cab grows

Interact with local government officials to ensure continued permission for Taam Cab to operate

Create strategies and policies for expanding Taam Cab’s driver fleet and ensuring driver happiness

Meet all onboarding targets

Suggest new ideas for ways to improve Taam Cab’s services

Work closely with the HR department in managing drivers and creating effective systems
Work with the tech department on creating timelines and rollout plans for new app features

Liaise with the marketing department to create effective advertising campaigns to grow Taam Cab’s customer base

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher

5+ years experience in a senior position managing operations

A proven track record implementing new ideas and managing projects

Advanced computer skills on MS Office

High attention to detail and accuracy

Knowledge of local business and financial regulations in Ethiopia

Fluency in English and Amharic required

Fluency in other Ethiopian languages such as Oromo or Tigrinya a plus

Ethiopian citizenship or immigration status enabling work in Ethiopia

Willingness to be based in Addis Ababa
