Our client, a family-owned but independently run Dairy food processing company in Nyamira County, Kenya is seeking to recruit the expertise of a Supply Chain Supervisor.
He/ She will be responsible for growing the supply chain apace with the company’s product development, ensure systems and processes are in place to meet growing procurement needs.
He or she Must have at least 7 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
The ideal candidate must have experience working in the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare purchase orders and send copies to payables accountant for originating requests.
Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs and ordering more materials.
Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries.
Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that goods meet specifications.
Compare suppliers’ bills
with bids and purchase orders in order to verify accuracy.
Locate suppliers, using sources such as catalogs and the internet, and interview them to gather information about products to be ordered.
Monitor in-house inventory movement and complete inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping purposes.
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field.
Experience with Sage Evolution is an added advantage.
MUST have good knowledge of flexible packaging products.
MUST have at least 7 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a busy flexible packaging finished goods store or in the manufacturing sector.
Masters in the same field will be an added advantage.
