Summit Recruitment & Search Retail Business Manager – North Coast, Kenya.


  • Our client, a well-established Shoe Manufacturer in Kenya, is looking for an energetic Retail Business Manager, to be based on the North Coast.

  • The successful candidate’s main responsibility will be to manage daily shop operations country-wide, including overseeing sales and inventory of online operations and growth of the business.

  • He/she will also manage inventory and reporting of the same for the entire retail business.

  • A lot of traveling will be required.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Visit outlets once a month countrywide.

  • Oversee the HR functions of the retail team, supported by the HR Team.

  • Scouting and opening new shop locations.

  • New partnerships with supermarkets and other potential retail outlets.

  • Overall retail business growth and reporting.

  • New launches of products into retail, activations.

  • Plan and run offers in outlets monthly to boost sales.

  • Oversee daily stock-taking functions across all outlets and its daily reporting and reconciliation.

  • Manage petty cash for the retail team.

  • Daily cash/bank/M-Pesa transactions monitoring and reporting. Daily cash drawer recon for shops.

  • Lead a team of shop team leaders, attendants, storekeepers, clerks, junior managers,
    outsourced contract workers, logistics team, accounts team, HR team and procurement team.

    Qualifications

  • Must have a Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant subject.

  • A minimum of 5 years in a retail environment.

  • Must have worked in a multi-branch organization in a managerial role.

  • Should have handled branch operations and also multi-branch operations.

  • Strong Operations and Business Development skills.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Must have impeccable communication skills.

  • Energetic and with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Proven track record of achievement in growing a company’s portfolio.

  • Be willing to travel.
