Summit Recruitment and Search Africa is a leading Recruitment and Executive Search agency head quartered in Kenya providing outstanding talent to a wide range of companies and NGO’s in various business sectors across Africa.

A leading manufacturer of fruit juices, fruit drinks, fruit nectars, carbonated soft drinks, extracted fruit pulp/juice, drinking water and sauces, are looking for a Head of Sales & Marketing for their offices in Nairobi.

The successful candidate will formulate and implement sales & marketing plans and strategies so as to achieve sales volumes and business growth profitability in accordance with the planned and agreed objectives.

He / She will be responsible to achieve or exceed the budgeted sales plan, expand and prioritize volume development opportunities within local markets and export territories. In addition, he/she will provide team leadership for the Sales & Marketing team to ensure the team’s quarterly and annual sales targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Sales & Marketing strategy and drive commitment to meeting financial goals

  • Manage sales promotional budget for assigned business segment

  • Direct and develop the sales & marketing team with timely feedback, to modify and improve performance standards ensuring the delivery of monthly targets

  • Provide weekly reports on the status of sales volume, sales performance and various solutions to pending challenges in the market

  • Work with the regional managers in the development of new markets and continuously assess performance of current partners

  • Create KPI’s, while tracking and focusing on value drivers (distribution, displays and package development)

  • Initiate, establish and develop key retail and customer relationships to maximize growth and market share

  • Collaborate with
    internal Legal resources to ensure accurate and timely revisions of rolling contracts and negotiation of new contracts

  • Attend and support the planning of periodic (quarterly) sales meetings

  • Create and communicate plan goals for the upcoming year with the board

  • Prepare the national sales annual budget for management approval

  • Area penetration both local & export territories

    Qualifications:

  • A minimum period of twelve (10) years relevant work experience and at least five (5) years in a management role in a relevant position

  • Master of Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized institution

  • Certificate in leadership course or its equivalent lasting not less than four (4) weeks

  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation and training ability

  • Ability to work with different levels of management within the organization

  • Financial and analytical abilities managing sales metrics, promotional budgets

  • Self-starter and able to work independently

  • Results oriented, attention to detail with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time locally and quarterly international travel

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Experience
