Our client a first line distributor of fast-moving non-perishable consumer beverages is looking for an Assistant Area Sales Manager. The desired incumbent will oversee a team of sales representatives in the distribution industry. He/She will work closely with the Sales Manager in planning, implementing, and managing sales strategies to achieve business objectives.

The role involves managing customer relationships, creating sales presentations, and assisting in negotiations to close deals. The Ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years in sales and distribution of alcoholic beverages.

Key Requirements

Supporting the Sales Manager in planning and implementing sales strategies

Developing new business opportunities and managing existing customer relationships.

Creating sales presentations and proposals to potential clients

Working closely with the Sales Manager in negotiations to close deals

Providing training and guidance to sales representatives to ensure targets are achieved.

Monitoring sales activities and analyzing market trends to improve sales performance.

Collaborating with cross-functional

teams to develop pricing strategies, promotions, and product positioning.

Preparing sales reports and participating in weekly sales meetings to discuss progress and identify areas for improvement.

Ensuring that all sales documentation is accurate and up to date.

Staying up to date with industry trends, competitors, and regulatory issues.

Qualifications

Relevant bachelor’s degree.

Team management skills.

Report writing skills.

Willingness and ability to travel and work extensively in Kenya.

Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

Self-driven and self-motivated.

Must be honest and reliable.

Must be aggressive with good networking skills.

Flexibility to adapt to change in priorities.
