A leading safari company specializing in providing unparalleled wildlife experiences in some of the most breathtaking locations across East Africa, is looking for a Supply Chain Director, to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

As the Supply Chain Director, you will be responsible for leading the restructuring of their supply chain processes, creating new policies and procedures, and establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the efficient and seamless operation of their supply chain network. The successful candidate’s role, will be pivotal in implementing best practices to enhance the quality of services and experiences for their discerning clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Restructuring:

Develop and execute strategic plans for restructuring the supply chain to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain strategies with business objectives.

Policy and Procedure Development:

Design and implement new supply chain policies and procedures tailored to the needs

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):

Establish comprehensive SOPs for all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.

Train and educate staff on SOPs to ensure consistent adherence and performance excellence across the organization.

Supplier Management:

Evaluate existing supplier relationships and identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.

Source and onboard new suppliers/vendors who align with the company’s values and quality standards.

Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions for the company.

Quality Assurance and Control:

Implement quality control measures throughout the supply chain

to uphold the highest standards of product and service excellence.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify deviations and implement corrective actions as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes, systems, and technologies.

Foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the supply chain team to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Proven experience (15 years) in supply chain management.

Demonstrated expertise in organizational restructuring, change management, and strategic Supply Chain Management.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.

Knowledge of best practices in supply chain management and a commitment to staying updated on industry trends.
