Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa Project Officer Jobs in Uganda
ResponsibilitiesEnsure efficient and effective implementation of project tasks;
Regularly monitor and evaluate Projects activities particularly in Uganda and ensuring effective outputs;
Provide financial management, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting;
Refine and monitor the project implementation time line, suggesting modifications as necessary;
Liaise with SIHA’s Regional Director (RD) and Regional Programmes Officer (RPO) and other SIHA programme staff;
Work closely with SIHA’s local-level partners in the project, supporting them in the implementation of the project or as otherwise requested by the SIHA Secretariat;
Uphold donor and SIHA reporting requirements in reference to the project;
Ensure adequate stakeholder connections are established in Uganda, and that project activities can be safely shared with various stakeholders;
Facilitate for the planning of all SIHA public and stakeholder events;
Facilitate the conduct of any and all necessary SIHA research work in Uganda.
Qualifications
University-level education in human rights, women’s rights, project management, development / humanitarian studies, gender studies, law, or a related field;
Experience working in the human rights / non-governmental organization sector, with ability to provide relevant references;
Strong experience in working grassroots community and ability to lead community based projects is essential
Strong writing skills and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, ability to collect and document information is central in to this post.
Multi-tasking skills with ability to put in extra hours during peak periods of activity;
Proven knowledge of local-level political / social / cultural dynamics;
Proven knowledge of local-level stakeholders, persons of influence, and the ability to liaise with these actors in reference to SIHA work in the region;
Ability to travel within Uganda and abroad as required;
Punctual, attentive, and enthusiastic;

Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa Programmes Assistant Jobs in Uganda
Responsibilities
Work closely with the programme team to support implementation of projects; support project monitoring, monitoring project work plans, following up on donor reporting deadlines for Uganda Projects. .
Periodically monitor and amend programmes work plans, and ensure timeliness and effectiveness of activities to be conducted;
As requested, contribute to the project planning, grant writing, and other programme-related tasks;
Make contributions towards SIHA’s engagements, communications and capacity building of our grassroots partners across the region. Focusing mainly on dedicated women activists, grassroots and youth groups and advocates for women’s rights,
equality, political and social empowerment;
Assist the Regional team in the implementation of day to day programme work through setting up discussions, meetings and overall engagement in programme activities, engaging with stakeholders at the local level;
Taking part in the monitoring and evaluation field visits and documenting the outcomes of these meetings in an organized format and filed appropriately.
Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Regional Programmes Officer, and the overall Programmes and management team.
Qualifications
University-level Bachelor’s Degree in human rights, women’s rights, project management, development / humanitarian studies, gender studies, law, or a related field, a Master’s degree is an added bonus;
Expressed interest in gender and women’s rights / empowerment and improving conditions for women and girls in the Horn of Africa;
Hard-worker, with ability to put in extra hours during peak periods of activity;
Proven knowledge of local-level political / social / cultural dynamics;
Punctual, attentive, and enthusiastic
