Role detailsReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Manager ICT and Operations will be responsible for running a robust ICT Infrastructure capable of managing the entire Sacco needs.
He/she will ensure quality services and effective operations that support revenue assurance, a quality loan portfolio and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Formulate and drive implementation of leading approaches to the strategic planning process covering credit management, shared services, ICT and security.
Responsible for cascading the strategy to departmental teams and ensuring development of action plans.
Keep abreast of local and global trends and developments in ICT, credit, shared services and security and make recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer and other departmental heads on how these impacts the Sacco.
Develop and implement ICT strategy, policies, procedures and standards to support business growth and keep at par with industry best practises.
Participate in product and services development and roll out.
Drive innovation within the department to ensure agile systems, processes, innovative products and/or efficient services to its internal/external customers.
Fully implement improved Omni channels across the digital self-service platforms (mobile banking, internet banking, web portal and agency banking) to ensure the Society remains competitive in the market.
Direct and guide all operational procedures and controls to minimize operational, credit, ICT and cyber related risks and solidify management controls.
Continuously review security incidents, evaluate data/statistics on security at the Sacco and make appropriate recommendations.
Ensure development and implementation of policies, operational systems and procedures for the Sacco’s credit management and operations.
Establish a feedback mechanism and a workflow management and monitoring system in compliance with Society’s Credit, ICT, Shared Services & Security operational policies, systems and procedures.
Propose proactive reforms to the Society’s operations, credit and credit-risk management strategies, policies and procedures to ensure they remain appropriate and in line with the best practices.
Ensure all business transactions are compliant with existing regulatory requirements.
Regular review and test controls within credit processes and policies.
Aggregate and analyse risk events occurring in Credit and ensure they are adequately addressed in the credit process and policies.
Ensure regular tracking and review of violation/deviation in the Credit Policy, Mortgage Policy and their respective manuals and procedures.
Provide leadership in continuous process improvements and process efficiencies at the ICT, Shared Services, Credit, Security and giving support to the whole organisation.
Produce timely and accurate board and management
reports as needed for monitoring and other management of business operations.
Lead and manage the departmental team to deliver a culture that supports and contributes to the strategic objectives and meets approved service standards.
Manage the division’s budget and participate in budgetary control.
Attend the Finance & Investment Committee and the Business Strategy & Technology Committee.
Minimum Requirements
Academic Requirements
A Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a relevant field.
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance or Business will be an added advantage.
Professional certification such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA K) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or other equivalent and recognised qualifications.
Full member of a relevant professional body such as Institute of Certified Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) in good standing.
Experience Requirements
Ten (10) years’ experience in implementing business driven digital and ICT strategies, credit and credit risk assessment, banking operations and structuring in emerging markets.
At least four years in career history must be in a similar role in terms of scale and complexity.
Experience in managing projects.
