State Corporation Assistant Manager - ICT Vacancies in Kenya
The Applications Manager’s role is to supervise and maintain the organization’s repository of software applications through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. The Applications Manager is also responsible for planning and coordinating the processes required for the provision of user applications and systems necessary for business operations.
Responsibilities
Manage, evaluate, install, configure, and deploy new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
Design, develop, and install application enhancements and upgrades.
Negotiate contracts with software and service providers.
Liaise with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
Manage and provide direction for the application team in support of business operations.
Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
Contribute to pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations.
Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
Compile and maintain inventory of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
Qualifications
University degree in the field of computer science or software engineering, and at least three years’ work experience in Application Support and Development.
Master’s degree in the field of computer science or software engineering will be added advantage
Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics AX, Power BI.
Working technical knowledge of programming languages, including development and customization of Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Knowledge of website content management systems i.e. Joomla or WordPress.
Proficiency in the use of development tools such as Visual Studio and MorphX Integrated Development Environment.
Extensive database and operating systems experience with SQL Windows and Windows Server.
Thorough understanding of platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics AX and SharePoint and Inspire HRM (VB.Net based HR Solution).
Hands-on experience in integrating different application platforms/technologies.
Knowledge of business intelligence applications such as Power BI.
Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies
Compliance with Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya

Responsibilities
Setting investment objectives depending on Corporation’s decisions.
Formulating an investment plan based on factors like risk profile, financial capacity, market factors, economic conditions and in line with government regulations.
Establishment of the portfolio strategy by consistently evaluating and improving the investment portfolios.
Discerning the best strategy for investments.
Monitoring investments on an ongoing basis.
Helping gain maximum benefits from investments.
Providing advice on investment areas.
Regularly meeting with investment analysts and fellow managers to discuss financial matters.
Reading financial briefings (often written by investment analysts).
Making informed financial recommendations and decisions.
Keeping knowledge up-to-date about the local, regional
and international economies, current financial news and financial markets.
Assessing and interpreting complicated financial information.
Qualifications
Six (6) years relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or any other Business related field.
CPA (K) / ACCA qualifications.
Membership to ICPAK or ACCA certification.
Chartered Public Accountant –Kenya (CPA-K) / ACCA, Certified financial analyst, investment (research).
Member of professional bodies – ICPAK, ACCA, CFA.
Good understanding of corporate investments.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.

Responsibilities
Directing and Managing project development from beginning to end.
Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
Effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Estimating the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
Where required, negotiating with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within Corporation.
Setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team.
Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path.
Planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
Tracking project milestones and deliverables.
Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Determining the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
Proactively managing changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Defining project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Qualifications
Six years relevant work experience, three in a management position.
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science & IT
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related fields.
Masters of Science in Information System.
Member of ICT professional body e.g. ICTAK, CFSK, CISAK.
Certificate in Management course lasting not less than four weeks.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrated professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
Compliance with Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya
