An emerging start-up is looking for a Business Development Officer to support the expansion of its business activities.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with a business mindset.
Responsibilities include working closely with the Team Leader in:-
Developing and diversifying business activities so that income increases and the future and growth of the organization are guaranteed
Developing, implementing and managing institutional structures for business activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Generate new business ideas through thorough market research, thinking outside the box and keeping in mind the organization’s social vision and mission.
Development of sound business plans, including realistic implementation plans.
Design and manage the implementation of business plans into full operation.
Assessing funding opportunities from traditional and non-traditional sources to kick-start business activities.
Advising on institutional and governance structures necessary for successful implementation of the overall goals
Business and Operations Management
Monitor ongoing business activities and develop solutions for existing challenges in all aspects of the business cycle.
Provide advice and assistance in the establishment and maintenance of business and financial records and recordkeeping systems.
Monitor operational activities and effectiveness of results, and prepare reports as appropriate.
Assist the Team Leader in all aspects of business and operations management, including finance and human resource management.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
Job Requirements
Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Marketing or any relevant field.
At least 2 years of experience
directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze economic environments and business opportunities in a systematic and detailed manner.
Ability to develop business plans, marketing plans, financial strategies, and business loan proposals.
Experience in business and operations management.
High level of computer skills with sound competencies in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with and knowledge of social enterprises is an additional advantage.
Personal Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective partnerships and work in a diverse team
Effective time management and organizational skills with demonstrated reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Remain engaged, proactive and open to new methods and ways of thinking
Excellent written and spoken English
Position is available immediately.
