Standard Bank Manager, Specialised Recoveries Jobs in Uganda

Job Purpose

Ensure effective Collection Management with a view of collecting within the NPL book and accounts with lawyers to realise maximum collections at the lowest cost and shortest time.

Use technology as a means to provide cost-efficient and effective MIS capability and support systems.

Key Responsibilites

Problem Solving

Collect information on customers falling within delegated default book and compile into different formats/returns required.

Analysis of all reports prepared on a monthly or quarterly basis and recommendation to Manager – R&R made on the NPL book with respect to managing the bank’s overall risk on this book.

Planning

Effective management, supervision and co-ordination of direct reports.

Proactively handle the daily data amendments on the bank’s operating systems and monthly/ quarterly reports within the deadlines specified.

Decision Making

Daily decision-making regarding repayment arrangements proposed by customers and/or legal action proposed by lawyers and making appropriate recommendations.

Ability to make decisions using intimate knowledge of the laid down criteria in respect of interest in suspense, provisions and accounting entries and procedures.

Relationship and Stakeholder Management

Internal

Liaise with other Banking Products Arrears Officer(s), PBB

Business Units and other administrative staff and any other stakeholder.

Liaise with Credit Evaluation Managers

External

Staff Members of All Stanbic Bank Branches and Outlets

Clients

Other Banks

External service providers e.g. Bailiffs, lawyers and collection agents (key to this post)

Qualifications

3 to 5 years Collection experience in rehabilitation across products, 2 of which have to be general Credit experience.

Minimum of an undergraduate degree

Understanding of Accountancy and Bookkeeping.

Sufficiently computer literate to prepare and record documents and returns, with knowledge of the following being an advantage:MIS, Finacle, MS Power point, MS EXCEL, MS Word.
