Job Purpose• To develop and manage Enterprise Direct capability end-to-end (proactive, reactive, in-bound, out-bound, on-site) including ownership and accountability of both Financial and Operational requirements.
• To formulate Enterprise Direct strategy in view of the organisational intent, strategic direction, growth ambitions and prevailing macro-economic conditions.
• To formulate pricing strategies (in conjunction with pricing teams) that complement and enhance the overall Standard Bank strategy taking cognisance of market conditions, competitor landscape, regulatory environment, customer impact, profitability drivers, capital and liquidity positions, and international best practices.
• To structure and customise propositions for customers to meet their needs through effective product structuring (i.e. loans, savings and investments, transactional banking, Bridging Facilities, etc.).
Key Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesEnterprise Direct portfolio management• Defines, develops and drives implementation of the Enterprise Direct strategy across the province (bespoke to cater for different nuances in the provinces / areas).
• Ensures the delivery of segment specific demands and service across Client Coverage Business, for example: Lifestyle.
• Ensures these are translated into the appropriate product development and management actions.
• In conjunction with customer service management, develops acquisition, growth, and retention targets in line with opportunities / potential to support and complement customer and profit targets.
• In conjunction with segment, determines, how and where products / solutions should be marketed to capture profit pools.
• Identifies customer behaviour changes and aligns product, pricing and features to capture the market.
• Risk (Impairments, Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default ( LGD), Credit Loss Ratio (CLR), Capital)
• Supports and complements the achievement of new customer budget and targets.
• Monitors and evaluates the performance of the products (by considering the targets achieved, acquisition, volumes and revenue generated):
• Feeds product market intelligence into
decision-support for market strategy;
• Takes corrective action where required (e.g. amends the segment acquisition strategy for a product, based on the performance of the product).
• Accountable for the appropriate use of insights (market scans, competitor analyses and knowledge of industry game-changes) to make the best possible decision for the portfolio.
• Determines optimal growth and usage measures; as well as optimal quality measures (e.g. risk grade, size, sector, geography).
• Responsible for enhanced customer management and retention focus.
• Ensures the resolution of escalated customer queries.
• Provides support for marketing and origination of Enterprise Direct opportunities through research and preparation of pitches.
• Analyses market data, due diligence reports, business plans, financial projections, to prepare financial models and to assist in the writing of credit papers.
• Ensures that the funding proposals to be submitted to Credit and/or investment committees meet the requirements of the relevant governance committee.
• Ensures that funding/legal documentation in use for executing and disbursing on the transaction adheres to the requirements of PBB and Group Legal. Solution development and digital adoption
• Identifies customer needs and develops new solutions and innovation (in conjunction with Solution Engineering and Enablement) that will satisfy their requirements.
• Understands the entire value chain to develop tools that will assist the Enterprise Direct team on how to service and sell to the customer.
• Enables the Enterprise Direct team to appropriately sell these new products/ features to customers.
• Drives digital migration and adoption.
• Provides input into the design and execution of the overall digital journey (registration and utilisation).
• Recommends appropriate processes relative to a virtual environment. Commerciality
• Manages the income statement and balance sheet end to end within the agreed minimum revenue growth.
• Develops and meets budgeted financial targets to achieve sustainable economic profit for Enterprise Direct. This includes setting and managing annual financial budgets.
• Informs budgets and revised estimates (RE0, RE1 and RE2, in accordance with the Finance timetable) for the Enterprise Direct area.
• Ensures economic
profit and balance sheet growth.
• Accountable for financial performance/ business and sales growth.
• Accountable for management of margin.
• Together with Credit, responsible for the management of doubtful debts and provisions.
• Together with Credit, ensures the achievement of risk vs reward, capital requirements, margins and economic profits in line with Basel II/III requirements.
• Supports achievement of economic profit for Client Coverage Business, income statement liabilities (transaction and payments); ensures the required profitability is met by:
• Maintains a “pricing watch list” to manage deviations from agreed pricing (pricing exception report and revenue leakage report) in order to pursue and recover such lost revenue. Customer
• Designs and implements customer retention strategies aimed at ensuring business retains valuable or profitable customers. This includes defining an end to end process of managing customers that are at risk of leaving the Bank, as well as identifying proactive retention strategies and processes for existing valuable customers.
• Continuously searches for new opportunities within and external to the organisation that will drive the business forward.
• Ensures the delivery of an optimum service model relevant to Enterprise Direct (segment, product, channel). Risk and compliance
• Responsible for all risk and compliance management for Enterprise Direct (Reputational, Credit and Operational).
• Acts and performs duties as a Key Individual as specified in the FAIS act.
• Ensures compliance to all applicable legislative requirements such as National Credit Act, Companies Act, Consumer Protection Act, Protection of Personal Information Act, Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Occupational Health and Safety etc.
• Keeps record in terms of Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS); the Financial Intelligence Centre Act requirements (FICA); and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
• Ensures the adherence to all internal risk related policies and guidelines.
• Completes all compliance training within laid down timelines.
• Plans and oversee implementation of timeous annual credit reviews for allocated customers.
• Keeps abreast of external factors influencing the customer’s exposure to risk and implements the necessary action. Stakeholder management
• Ensures there are accurate insights and management information in place to give the business insight into customer profitability, segment performance and any other appropriate key business drivers. This is done through collaboration with Customer Insights and Analytics (CIA).
• Translates financial solutions into actionable outcomes for the team as well as broader stakeholders to meet the stated business objectives.
• Together with relevant stakeholder’s, designs and executes the overall digital adoption journey for the Enterprise Direct team.
• Together with the Catchments defines the most appropriate processes to ensure efficient and effective customer service
• Together with Marketing defines the distribution and marketing strategy for Enterprise Direct. People
• Designs and implements a people plan (e.g. talent management, transformation etc) in conjunction with Human Capital.
• Ensures that the Integration and Customer Journey culture is adopted across Enterprise Direct.
• Empowers employees to fulfil the local objectives regarding customer experience, people management and engagement.
• Empowers through coaching and development of the front line to meet customer demand at a local level.
• Leverages and optimises people, resources, channels, business and risk controls in line with market potential, to maximise business growth, retention and profitability targets within Direct.
• Drives a unique culture aligned to people practices and proper performance management.
• Ensures the effective selection of staff by matching the skills and competencies to the requirements of the job.
• Critically reviews scorecards to ensure that they promote the desired behaviour.
Preferred Qualification and ExperienceFirst Degree Business Commerce
FAIS Qualification (RE5 and RE1)
7 - 10 years Personal and business banking experience
