Standard Bank Manager: Portfolio Analytics, Client Solutions Jobs in South Africa

Job Purpose

To perform data mining and packaging of advanced insights that identify new revenue opportunities, the revenue gaps and cost reduction across an allocated product portfolio.

To develop algorithms and models to be used as an engine for product solution packaging and daily portfolio management.

To develop minimum and recommended prices across the portfolio and the risk appetite models in order to build digitised services that meet customers’ needs and maximize the profitability.

Key Responsibilites

Client

• Investigates optimal algorithms to inform customer shapes and prepares appropriate business cases in order to proceed with development.

• Conducts analysis to establish viability of potential new revenue streams that have been identified and product efficiencies to enable headline earnings growth for the allocated portfolio. Prepares findings and recommendations for escalation.

Product

• Performs statistical and financial modelling to develop the algorithms used as an engine for customer financing solution packaging.

• Performs statistical cluster analysis to define customer shapes informed by customer sector, customer life cycle, aspirations / life problems, needs and what matters.

Financial management

• Prepares and provides commentary on management information packs (i.e. monthly and quarterly reports) to be used for ongoing portfolio management.

• Tracks

and forecasts revenue and costs, to ensure alignment with budgeted expectations (e.g. headline earnings, balance growth, volumes, new accounts, cross-sell, up-sell).

Risk, Regulatory, Prudential and Compliance

• Adheres to risk framework, appetite, risk control procedures, governance and risk toolbox.

• Provides input into internal and external audits to eliminate unsatisfactory findings.

Qualifications

BSC, Engineering, Econometrics, Actuarial Science Maths or Finance degree.

Practical experience in developing actuarial, mathematical, financial and statistical modelling or advanced analytics.

Practical experience within banking, business markets and lending is essential.

Experience in scenario analysis, business case development and customer journeys interactive algorithms.

Experience in implementing analytical projects.

Knowledge of pricing strategies.
