Job PurposeTo continuously equip agents, agents, agent’s staff and bank staff with the knowledge and skills required to manage agency banking operations effectively and in compliance with bank standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Agency Banking training manuals
Develop and update the agent banking training manual for agents and staff as required
Measures
Agency Banking training manual up to date
Agency Banking skill and knowledge gap analysis
Identify agent and staff skill and knowledge gaps, and develop training content and plans to close these gaps
Measures
Agency Banking knowledge and skill gaps analysis
Agency banking annual training plan

Build and maintain capability by continuously training agents, agent’s staff and bank staff
Develop e-learning and simulations and drive completion by agents, agent’s staff and bank staff.
Evaluate effectiveness of training and take action to improve effectiveness
Percentage completion of training as per schedule and budget
Agents, agent’s staff and bank staff skill and knowledge level
Agency Banking training reports
Provide reports detailing the training carried out, outcomes achieved, expenditure and impact on agent, agent’s staff and bank staff performance
Measure
Preferred Qualification and Experience
Degree from a recognized university
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
Competency Description: The ability to communicate information and ideas in a clear and concise manner appropriate for the audience in order to explain, persuade, convince and influence others to achieve the desired outcomes.
Proficiency Level: Seasoned - Applies concepts without requiring supervision, able to provide technical guidance when required
Competency Label: Campaign Management
Competency Description: The ability to plan, create, track, store, distribute, analyse results and reports on communication, branding or advertising campaigns.
Proficiency Level: Proficient - Clear knowledge
and application of the concept
Competency Description: Knowledge and understanding of the features, benefits and pricing of the products and services on offer to personal banking customers across multiple customer segments.
Proficiency Level: Seasoned - Applies concepts without requiring supervision, able to provide technical guidance when required
Competency Label: Customer Understanding
Competency Description: The ability to analyse customer needs by engaging with them, analysing their personal financial objectives as well as their current financial position.
Proficiency Level: Advanced - Mastered the concept, able to act independently, provides guidance and training to others
Competency Description: Sound knowledge of the Bank's laid down policies and procedures as it relates to the processing of customer transactions.
Proficiency Level: Seasoned - Applies concepts without requiring supervision, able to provide technical guidance when required
Competency Description: Within the Standard Bank Customer Experience Framework, the ability to treat the customer with respect and dignity, at a personal level, in a positive and friendly manner.
Proficiency Level: Advanced - Mastered the concept, able to act independently, provides guidance and training to others
