Job Title: Business Development Manager/ Operations Manager

Department: Operations Department

Reports to: Operations Director

Location: Nairobi

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

  • 5 or more years of experience in retail management

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Team Leadership & Effective negotiation skills

  • Practical knowledge on contemporary retail management practices

  • Effective communication & team development skills

    Roles and Responsibility

    Sales and Commercial Performance

  • Prepare and participate in the preparation of sales budgets.

  • Maximize sales and profitability of the retail chain.

  • Control costs within budgetary guidelines.

  • Identify internal and external money-making opportunities.

  • Ensure effective Stock and Space Management.

  • Conduct SWOT review to analyze the customer profile.

  • Provide feedback on competitors and their activities.

  • Suggest and implement improvements based on standard practices.

    [Inventory Management & Stock Distribution

  • Ensure effective Inventory and Warehouse management

  • Review and analyze stocks and sales reports monitoring over and under stocks, implementing
    corrective action to be taken.

  • Review and effectively deal with fast/ slow products, new ranges and implement necessary
    action.

  • Provision of monthly feedback on sales, stock positions and products feedback.

    Business Management & Development

  • Strategize and seek opportunity for expansion in the territory

  • Manage roll-out of new projects and time bound implementation of projects.

  • Research and look for good property
    and locations.

  • Understand Territory dynamics i.e. (demographics, consumer behavior, market understanding
    etc.)

    Operational Standards and Management

  • Prepare standard operating process and ensure effective implementation

  • Ensure all the branches are in compliance with the store operating standards and customer
    service standards

  • Ensure all the stores portray the company image in all aspects of personal presentation and
    adheres to the company dress code as laid out by the Company.

  • Ensure all store sales, promotions are planned effectively, executed and promptly and
    maintained professionally.

  • Act as an advisor to the branch manager, the directors, and department heads on matters
    regarding operations and business development.

  • Involved in formulating a performance management system for the shops, performance
    measure.
