Key Duties and Responsibilities:Will be responsible for planning and executing the intervention of building the capacity of
Community own resource persons (Children Rights Champions) and parents for each to play their
respective role in children rights protection and service delivery;
Adopting and disseminating appropriate training manuals and IEC materials;
Build the capacity of the department of children services and community TOT's to run respective trainings for parents and CORPS;
Holding review meetings with the Chiefs, CORPS and Parents; Coordinate public campaigns for promoting child protection;
Promote parent/child dialogue forums symposium; promoting sustainable positive parenting enrichment fo&ms;
Facilitating exchange forums for parents to advance their response to improve parenting for child protection;
Work with relevant service providers to link CORPS and parents to other service providers for family, health, social economic and psychological
Support CORPS and positive parenting trainers to establish sustainable service delivery organizations for the community.
Qualifications
• Has a degree from a credible higher learning institution in either Social work, community development or any other relevant social development discipline. Certification in relevant Children rights training will be an added advantage
• A Kenyan citizen of the age between 25- 40 years
• At least 3 years progressive experience in Children Rights an protection programs
• Experience of working with, Department of Children services Local Government and local partners in the delivery of Child rights services
• Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Relevant experience in mobilizing Communities to participate in Child rights protection activities.
• Willingness and experience
in working with vulnerable communities in the informal settlements.
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for improvement in child rights service delivery
• Demonstrated knowledge of Kenya policies and frameworks relating to children Protection
• Ability to intervene with crisis management on emergency children crisis
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including training, influencing, negotiation and coaching
• Excellent time management and planning capacity
• Excellent planning, coordination and reporting skills, with the ability to organize a substantial
workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
• Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
• Ability to write and speak in English and Kiswahili fluently
