Job DescriptionSt. Gabriel General Hospital PLC was established in September 1996 and is the first private hospital of its kind in Ethiopia. St. Gabriel General Hospital has paved the way and continues to provide access to healthcare to both the local and international community’s here in Addis.
Over the past 25 years, the hospital has served over 400,000 patients in both Outpatient and Inpatient departments.
Perform scheduled maintenance inspections and performance assurance inspections on equipment to ensure safe and effective operating conditions
Test and calibrate components using a variety of manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and code requirements
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies
Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and accurate
Repair and replace complex biomedical equipment and systems
Install and adjust a variety of biomedical equipment
Diagnose equipment malfunctions with accuracy and precision
Support systematic preventive maintenance biomedical instrumentation and equipment program.
Maintain dialysis systems, reuse and ancillary medical equipments .
Conduct electrical performance and safety assurance testing on dialysis machines.
Handle PM procedures with biomedical equipment manufacturer standards, recommendations and acceptable industry processes.
Handle specialized equipment services in laboratory analyzers, laser,
ultrasound, ventilators, sterilizers and anesthesia machines.
Inform biomedical equipment users and Clinical Engineering Management on status updates.
Interface with clinical staff to identify and remedy scheduling problems.
Identify need for replacement supplies and select and submit cost effective sources with established guidelines and policies.
Offer on call service coverage beyond business hours and conduct other duties as directed by his/her Manager.
Job Requirements
Requirements
BSC Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Diploma in Biomedical equipment maintenance/ Biomedical equipment technician or other related fields
3-5 years relevant experience working with biomedical equipment in hospitals
Skilled proficiency in the use of tools and test equipment
Advanced computer skills
