St Andrew’s School Transport & Safety Coordinator Jobs
St. Andrew’s School, Turi, an international Christian Boarding School offering a British Curriculum education, wishes to fill the following position in the School from May, 2018.
The School comprises two semi-autonomous Schools: the Preparatory school for pupils between of ages of 3 – 13 and the Senior School for pupils between the ages of 13-18.
The Transport & Safety Coordinator is a whole school appointment and is responsible to the Facilities Manager. S/he will work closely with the Bursar, the Heads and Director of Sports as well as the Facilities Manager inensuring the coordination of the various aspects of students’ transportation to the various curricular and extracurricular activities offered by the School in line with the School Transport Policy. S/he will support the Facilities Manager in ensuring that the School is fully compliant as regards Health & Safety.
Main Responsibilities
Developing and administering a transportation system to meet all the requirements of both the Prep and Senior School extracurricular activities including preparing, updating and publishing a weekly schedule for distribution to various stakeholders in the School.
Performs administrative functions of the drivers including monitoring daily attendance, interviews, training, supervision, evaluating and providing professional development opportunities for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity and efficiency in the department.
Maintains computerized transportation system (e.g. tracking system, speeding limits) for the purpose of creating operational efficiency.
Manages and coordinates transportation requests for all extra and co-curricular events of the School together with opening of the term, half term and end of term transportation requests.
Ensures that all vehicles are compliant with all legal requirement and regulations regarding school transportation and that safety standards and insurance regulations are adhered to at any given time.
Acts as liaison with parents for transport
requests for opening day, half term and end of term.
Advises line management and assists with implementation of new and existing Health & Safety related legislation, rules and School standards to include fire, prevention, health and safety awareness training and site inspection.
Assisting in prevention inspections of Health and Safety on a regular basis and ensuring that all records are kept.
Investigating accidents and incidents and ensuring that all documentation is updated.
Responsible for the School’s preparation for annual Health & Safety Audits and Quality Assurance.
Perform other duties as requested from time to time
Personal & professional attributes
A minimum of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Business Management
At least two years’ experience in a similar position
Strong organisational skills for planning schedules, journeys and loads.
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
Good Communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels.
Flexibility in working shift work, weekends and late nights.
