Assistant Director, Finance SK 3 REF: HRM/ADF/02/19An Officer at this level will be responsible to the Director General on all matters that relate to Finance and Administration among other support services.
Job Description
Initiate development of financial policies;
Develop and implement continued improvement, accounting systems, procedures that will enhance the quality, timeliness and
availability of financial information;
Overseeing the implementation of administrative related issues for
the organization;
Ensure compliance with the Government of Kenya Accounting policies and procedures;
Ensure proper financial systems and procedures are in place for timely financial and accounting reporting;
Undertake financial risk management for the Board;
Ensure timely preparation for Planning and Coordination of annual work plans and budget estimates;
Undertake proper management of corporate tax, VAT and other statutory deductions for compliance;
Develop and interpret financial reports, statements and accounting
records;
Coordinate preparation of tax payments, information reports and other statutory requirements;
Maintain the Boards Assets Register;
Preparation of long-term financial forecast plans, budgets and cash flow; and
Any other duties as assigned.
Job Specification
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
Served in the grade of Senior Finance Officer or a similar and comparable position in the Public or Private Sector for at least five
(5) years;
A Masters degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounts or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
A Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounts or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
Certified Public Accountants (CPA-K) Examination or its recognized equivalent professional qualifications from a recognized Institution;
Membership of a relevant professional body; and
Shown
merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
