South African Medical Research Health Safety & Environment - HSE - Manager Jobs

The SAMRC requires a skilled experience Health, Safety & Environment Manager who will be responsible for the strategic management of the Health, Safety and Environment Office.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and maintain Health, Safety & Environment Management System.

Ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations regarding health & safety in the work place and the environment.

Perform HIRA and develop and implement health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines (OHS Act 85 of 1993)

Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.

Identify HSE training requirements

Monitor and report on compliance to policies and laws

Provide written recommendations and solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures

Ensure contractor and service providers compliance to (OHS Act 85 of 1993)

Core Requirements:

Diploma or equivalent qualification in Health, Safety & Environment

Minimum of 5 years relevant experience as an HSE Manager

SAMTRAC – Development, Implementation & Maintenance of HSE Management System

Added advantage:

Graduate Member of SAIOSH

Health, Safety & Environment Management within a Medical Research environment.

Understanding, Implementation and Auditing of OSHAS 18001 AND ISO 14001.
