Solution SACCO Finance and Business Strategy Manager Jobs in Kenya

Solution SACCO (SSL) was split from Meru Mwalimu SACCO in 1993. The latter was formed in 1976 as a cooperative for teachers within the greater Meru District.

SSSL is based in Meru town and has now over 16,000 Members as at December 2017. Members are drawn from Teachers under TSC, employees of TSC Secretariat, Office of the President, Kenya National Union of teachers, Meru teachers, Cooperative, Education Ministries and Government employees, MSMEs, Chamas and other community-based organizations.

Initially, our products were restricted to savings mobilization through share capital and normal SACCO loans. After review of the SACCOs act that allowed us to diversify our services, we introduced more products to our basket.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Commerce Degree/Accounts/Finance option) from an accredited institution

CPA K

Good communication skills

Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position

Should be computer literate and ability to audit computerized accounting system

Familiarity with SACCO rules and regulations

Duties and responsibilities of Finance and Business Strategy Manager

Providing an interpretation of financial information.

Monitoring cash flows and using the same to predict future financial trends

Formulating strategies to be used in the long-term financial plans for the SACCO.

Analyzing the performance of competitors.

Developing management mechanisms in the finances department for purposes of minimizing the financial risks.

Reviewing and evaluating cost reduction opportunities open to

the firm.

Managing the accounting and monitoring systems for the company's finances.

Developing good working relationships with professionals such bankers, auditors or statutory organizations for the benefit of the SACCO.

Managing the SACCO's budgets.

Updating the firm regarding changes in legislation or regulations that may affect the firm business operation.

To improve profitability of the entire SACCO by growing the business through attraction of new customers and new lines of business and introduce new products which come with commission and interest based income.

To give operational guidelines to Branch Manager from time to time in order to ensure compliance with our internal and also external requirements to reduce frauds and forgeries.
