SolarNow Solar Sales Engineer – C&I Jobs in Uganda


Key Responsibilities

1. Support and manage the development and realization of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Solar PV projects in Kenya/Uganda and across the East Africa region.

2. Source credible leads and sales opportunities for solar systems.

3. Conduct customer need analysis and present the customers with customized solutions to fit their energy needs.

4. Identify and target customers and lead the commercial relationship with them.

5. Leverage existing networks and expand product reach and repeat business through relationship building and exceptional customer experience.

6. Liaise with management team for technical, financial, and legal support for projects.

7. Negotiate offers for projects and sales with potential customers.

8. Provide regular feedback to the management on market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities to deliver greater value to our customers.

9. Follow up development of existing C&I and utility scale projects, establishing and maintaining a pipeline of projects.

10. Prepare proposals, sales quotes, and tender documents.

11. Co-operate with local partners: including local developers, local investors, subcontractors, and sales agents.

12. Provide material to company support functions for creation of marketing documents.

13. Attend exhibitions, conventions, and other events to help in the sales of products and/or service.

14. Report on all sales activities including sales and prospecting activities, sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.

15. Advise management on strategic issues relating to product lines materials, new proposals, and problem areas.

Skills & Qualifications

a. Bachelor’s degree in business administration / Marketing / Energy Engineering / Electrical Engineering

b. At least
3-5 years of sales experience in the energy industry

c. Proven track record in technical sales in the solar industry

d. Quick learner, capable of grasping the structure & intricacies of the energy business & markets.

e. High business acumen.

f. Excellent presentation and communication skills.

g. Ability to build strong relations at C-Level.

h. Ability to effectively communicate complex information and adapting it to specific customers.

i. Ability to work with limited supervision.

j. Strong relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness, reliability, and integrity.

k. Self-motivated with persuasive, enthusiastic and client-centric focus.

l. Ability and willingness to travel is required, frequent and regular visits to prospects and customers.

m. N.B Sales experience in the energy industry is a MUST.
