SolarNow is hiring an Operations Manager, a passionate professional to create and maintain appropriate levels of operational focus, integrity and control strategies within the region.

About the job
The Operations Manager in SolarNow is the leader of the entire operations and is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the organization’s activities, helping and creating organizational and program budgets in collaboration with the Chief Operations and CEO.

Specific responsibilities include:
● Manage the implementation of Solar Now financial and operations functions.
● Working with the management team to contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.
● Prepare and control operational budgets and inventory, and recommend effective strategies for the financial well-being of SolarNow Uganda.
● Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output.
● Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
● Develop policies and procedures to improve on the implementation of all HR related activities.
● Facilitate the coordination and communication between support functions.
● In liaison with Board and CEO, assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity and implement and manage operational plans.
● Risk Management – Oversee organizational insurance policies to ensure health and Safety committee meetings are held and tasks assigned.

Specific activities include:

Accountable for all daily operations of the Regional Hub (RH) and associated Market Hubs.

Ensure that operating processes and procedures are maintained and continually improved guaranteeing a streamlined, customer orientated business.

Regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of the warehouse and credit Officers at the Hub branch.

Prepare reports stating the progress of the regional Hub related activities.

2. Solar Now Logistics Manager Jobs in Uganda

Reports to: General Manager

Job Summary
Responsible for high actor satisfaction due to optimal communication; and ensuring Standard
Operational Procedures compliance by staff.

Responsibilities
Responsibility KPI & target (pm overall desk)
1. Ensure stakeholder satisfaction
2. Ensure compliance to S.O.P
3. Deliver on-time
4. Control product flows Stock

5. Branch stock

Tasks Meeting:
• Gives training to new/existing staff
• Coaches & Supervises staff, i.e. on absenteeism, professionalism, conflicts, performance
• Analyzes trends & interprets data in order to provide information for decision making
• Handles and advises staff on non-routine actions
• Works on special projects and senior (SolarNow BV) inquiries/requests, if any
• Assists in the implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures
• Plans with and checks the routine tasks
• Ensures to handle specific tasks

Field
Each branch is visited at least 1 full day per year by the Manager to:
• Visits clients to identify (desk related) issues
• Either generates leads, does assessment or installs together with the branch team
• Trains on-the-job (make attendance list)
• Checks compliance with all policies

Additional tasks at senior level
• Handles MT: agenda, plan, practicalities, minutes, storage, sharing
• Executes Project Management: manage 3 company improvement projects
• Contributes actively to Vision, Mission & Values
• Reports on trends, including suggestions for improvements, at least once a month
• Has country level financial verification rights

Minimum Job Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree level or above
Experience: 5+ years experience in logistics “coaching”, preferably at SolarNow
Special skills: Mature personality
Good training skills: Ability to take tough decisions. Sees big picture, does not get lost in details
