Job Profile:

The STA Gen pop will provide leadership and technical support in the areas of implementation of HIV Prevention Care and Treatment services for general population on the GC7 grant. S/he will coordinate services needed to implement high quality care Gen pop, HIV care and treatment services.

Provide oversight and supervisory roles to the appropriate Technical Staff at the state level, review guidelines, tools and recommendations related to the implementation, evaluation of clinical management of HIV/AIDS for gen pop and represent SFH at stakeholders’ engagement both at the national and state level on issues of clinical management of HIV/AIDS for general population on the GC7 grant

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

Contribute to devising comprehensive strategies and action plans tailored specifically for key populations in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care and the implementation of harm reduction services.

Mentor and coach state KP/HR technical staff on effective strategies for implementing integrated interventions targeting key populations and for harm reduction

Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including government both at the national and state level, community-based organizations, and relevant groups, to ensure cohesive coordination and implementation of HIV/AIDS and Harm Reduction interventions targeting key populations.

Ensure the provision of harm reduction services according to National and donor rules and regulations in Kwara and Gombe states.

Work closely with and support the State Technical Officers in ensuring a smooth program in Kwara and Gombe states.

Work closely with the other Technical Advisors and the Project Director to support and coordinate the program implementation in the states.

Qualifications/Experience:

MBBS, Bachelor’s in public health, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Master’s degree in public health, Epidemiology will be an added advantage

6 - 8 years of

progressively responsible experience in the design, implementation, and management of HIV-related programs especially for General population working closely in comprehensive ART sites, preferably in diverse cultural and geographical settings.

Proven track record in technical leadership, program management, and capacity-building initiatives within the HIV field for general population

Strong understanding of Global Fund regulations, procedures, and reporting requirements is highly desirable.

Skills and competencies:

Technical:

Comprehensive understanding of HIV prevention strategies and treatment protocols

Proficiency in analysing epidemiological data related to HIV prevalence, transmission patterns, and risk factors to inform targeted interventions.

Strong networking and collaboration skills to establish and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders.

Knowledge of health system dynamics and experience in integrating HIV programs within broader health frameworks, ensuring sustainability and effectiveness.
