SNV Non-Profit International Development Civil Society Organisations Jobs in Kenya
Purpose of the assignment:ObjectiveUnder this Strategic Partnership, SNV seeks Civil Society Organisations CSOs to join a multi-country and multi-sector project on Evidence Based Advocacy.
These CSO’s should have a record of accomplishment in collaborative approaches to multi-stakeholder policy engagement processes at national and county level. Additionally, these CSOs should have sector knowledge and expertise either in:
Agriculture; specifically Food & Nutrition security issues; in particular food safety and food loss reduction.
OR
ASAL based with knowledge in climate change resilience and working experience involving pastoralist communities to engage in climate change policy formulation.
This five-year project, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGIS), aims at strengthening capacities of CSOs to advocate for a conducive enabling environment in WASH, Renewable Energy, Nutrition and Food Security, and Resilience.
For Nutrition and Food Security, and Resilience, the project is an initiative of SNV and IFPRI.
Scope and coverage of work
Implementation in Kenya will take place in selected counties for now; Nakuru, Laikipia, Muranga, Nyandarua and Bomet.
Food and Nutrition security in Dairy and Horticulture; with special attention to food safety and food loss reduction.
Climate change resilience aims to promote the voice of pastoralist communities in the climate
policy engagement.
Qualifications
These CSO’s should have a record of accomplishment in collaborative approaches to multi-stakeholder policy engagement processes at national and county level.
Additionally, these CSOs should have sector knowledge and expertise either in:
Agriculture; specifically Food & Nutrition security issues; in particular food safety and food loss reduction.
OR
ASAL based with knowledge in climate change resilience and working experience involving pastoralist communities to engage in climate change policy formulation.
Submission guidelines and selection criteria
During the selection process SNV would like to ascertain the strengths and weaknesses of
each CSO, based on the below mentioned criteria:
Technical capacity on sector areas Inclusion & gender, and on climate change
Organisational capacity at district/regional level to influence the regional/national level to meet programme objectives
Legal status and history Mandate, policies and governance
Constituency and external support
Enabling work environment
Managerial capacity
Financial capacity
An opportunity for SNV to add value to the CSO
How to Apply
If you are interested in this call and you feel that you match the criteria, please submit a clear EoI with SNV. This EoI should be no more than 2 pages describing the interest of the CSO in this particular advocacy project, the reasons why the CSO wants to be part of such a project, and the role the CSO sees for itself.
Attached to this EoI SNV likes to receive an overview of relevant projects or activities that the CSO is currently executing as well as a selection of relevant projects or activities implemented in the past five years.
The overall submission should be maximum 5 pages and can be submitted by attaching it here as an attachment not later than 16th of August, 2017
Also indicate your expectations in terms of a rate per day by which you will be paid.
