Job Description

Silver Spring Production and Promotion PLC which is the sole agent for ebs television.
We are looking for an experienced Assignment Editor to supervise a wide range of programs. You will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each program.

You will inform management on progress and performance. A successful Assignment Editor must have a broad knowledge of program management principles. They must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead and develop their subordinates.

The goal is to ensure every program will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Initiating and setting goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.

Planning the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes.

Developing or approving budgets and operations.

Be the main point of communication between reporters, production teams, and executive staff on developing content.

Help choose which journalists, videographer, and other staff members are assigned to cover stories

Stay on top of all stories to ensure they're developing as planned

and determine which ones are not coming together.

Confer with directors and production staff to discuss issues such as production and casting problems, budgets, policies, and news coverage.

Coordinate activities between departments, such as marketing and programming.

Develop promotions for current programs and specials.

Monitor and review programming in order to ensure that schedules are met, guidelines are adhered to, and performances are of adequate quality.

Develop ideas for programs and features that a station could produce.

Select, acquire, and maintain programs, music, films, and other needed materials, and obtain legal clearances for their use as necessary.

Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.

Job Requirements

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Communication, Foreign language and literature, Media a Mass communication and 6 years of experience.

Proven experience as assignment editor or other managerial position.

Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting.

Editorial judgment skill.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Excellent communication skills.
