Job Description

Our firm is looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated manager to lead and manager our transportation unit. We are looking for a pro-active individual who can work independently to set up policy and procedures for fleet management, with excellent management skills sets, and the ability to resolving challenges as they arise.

We are looking to an individual who has the capacity to grow the business by increase flow of transposition by ensuring cost efficient and efficient method of dispatch.

Role and Responsibility

Develop an effective and efficient transposition management system/policy to ensure cost efficiency, increase in revenue, compliance, and transparency.

Develop a dynamic TMS system to ensure fleets are being efficiently operated and managed.

Management of company’s vehicle fleet (rental/owned) including coordination of timely maintenance, drivers’ deployment and training, insurance coverages and other required travel permits and documentations.

Maintain a clear databased on transpiration performance in terms of cost, distance travel and prepare a detailed logbook for fleets per trip and a summary for each vehicle.

Initiate expense replenishment for fuel and per-diem request for company trucks as per the company’s policy.

Conduct recruitment of qualified drivers and onboarding as per the company’s policy

Lead transportation management by managing drivers, loads and journey and delivery.

Advise on optimal transportation activities such as route, scheduling and timeline of delivery and reporting.

Prepare require paperwork for regulatory bodies to ensure appropriate document is secured for travel.

Lead company business development to increase revenue by ensuring consistent journey is secured and track sale pipeline. Collaborate with local and international companies in Ethiopia to secure contracts for transportations and ensure sales

target it met.

Track tender and submit EOI and bids as required.

Ensure clients settle payments on a timely manner.

Develop quarterly expense and sales budget and financial report.

Ensure security clearance is acquire prior to fleet departure.

Ensures that logistics data and information is effectively shared with relevant base and coordination teams.

Participates in the financial and administrative management of his/her field of activity.

Participates in the drafting of project documents by providing technical support (costing, estimation of needs and contribution to the supply plans of his/her scope.

Qualification

First university degree

Professional certification in areas such as transport and/or logistics operations management. Training or knowledge of information management systems and their application to logistics, transport or supply management and monitoring.

At least five years’ experience, at the national levels, in managing fleet and logistics support operation.

Functional Knowledge and Skills

Excellent organizational and managerial skills with the ability to multitask, identify and solve problems.

Proven knowledge of vehicles equipment, including communications, safety, and mechanics.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills complemented by ability to negotiate with and convince officials with tact and diplomacy.
