Job PurposeTo provide quality nursing services and public health care interventions to patients and the community.
Job Description
Participate in receiving , registering, providing treatment and discharging patients
Provide immediate supervision to the Nursing and midwifery departments Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for patients.
Carrying out Health Education and community sensitization
Participate in research activities
Preparing and carrying out sterile procedures and disposal of medical waste.
Participating in bedsides nursing procedure as a member of the caring team.
Participating in Doctors/Clinical officers ward rounds
Participate in dispensing of medicines and monitoring of drugs usage both in OPD and IPD pharmacy
Impart knowledge and skills to health support staff and trainees.
Compiling daily ward reports and handover to incoming shift leader.
Participate in clerking of patients when need arises
Managing, accounting for allocated resources and taking inventories of equipment’s in medical and midwifery departments
Participate in immunisation activities both static and outreaches
Drawing monthly duty roasters and time table for Health Education for Nursing and midwifery department
Required Competencies
Must have a Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing.
Must be trained at a registered level from a recognized Nursing Training
Institution Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and midwives council.
Must have a working experience of 3 years.
Other Required Competencies
Certificate in Guidance and counselling.
Concern for quality and standards.
Ethics and integrity
Time management
