Project Background

Sightsavers support a number of mass drug administration (MDA) coverage evaluation surveys (CES) to validate reported coverage and understand where, amongst who and why there may be low coverage.

There are a number of upcoming schistosomiasis/soil-transmitted helminths CES in 2023, that require support for the statistical analysis (using STATA), these are in Chad (13 Evaluation Units (EUs) in phase 1 and 18 EUs in phase 2), Nigeria (approx. 14 EUs) and DRC (10 EUs).

Sightsavers already have standardised STATA do-files, although they will need to be adapted for each country. There is also a standard analysis plan that will need to be followed, although with possibility to do further analysis as suggested by the data.

Deliverables

Completed do-files for each of the three countries

Cleaned datasets for each of the three countries

Analysis report, one for each of the three countries (EU-level data) – as per analysis plan and standardised report template

Timeframe of Project

The CES analysis is for completion this year, as per the following timeframe.

In total this Consultancy will be for 17 days work over the course of Q3 and Q4, with a view for repeat work after completion.

Budget and payment schedule

As agreed between Sightsavers and the consultant.

Minimal requirements for a Consultant/Team Members

Ability to conduct analysis of survey data, ideally related to MDA but this is not essential.

Previous experience of survey analysis.

Good knowledge of using STATA is essential.

Can produce clear and well-formatted graphs and tables, using STATA or excel.

Good statistical analysis skills

Fluent English

Consultant must have access to STATA already, as this will not be supplied.
