Job Summary

  • Reporting to the Board Secretary/Chief Executive Officer the Principal Information Communication Officer will be responsible for Coordinating system development, analysis maintenance, and research; adherence to established ICT Standards, collection, collation, data management, storage and maintenance. .

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementation and allocation; co-ordinating systems development, maintenance; carrying out feasibility studies; preparing progress reports of the systems development;

  • Evaluating systems and ensuring adherence to established ICT Standards; training preparing staff performance reports; planning, and monitoring;

  • Planning, monitoring and evaluating program/activities within an Information Communication Technology division/Unit and evaluating program/activities within an Information Communication Technology division/Unit;

  • liaising with user departments to ensure effective maintenance of Information Communication Technology equipment; and reviewing and evaluating hardware maintenance feasibility studies and detailed specifications before implementation;

  • Collection, collation and analysis of information including data management, storage and maintenance;

  • Information development through acquisition, cataloguing, maintenance of up-to-date information, statistical data, policy extracts and other pertinent materials;

  • Compile and consolidate the various sources of information in the form of detailed studies and reports;

  • Access available sources of information – including the internet, databases for purposes of benchmarking;

  • Ensure the information provided to customers is both accurate and up-to-date;

  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Secretary/C.E. O of the Board.

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University preferably in Business Administration and Information Technology, Computer Science or any other equivalent qualification;

  • A Master’s degree in relevant area will be an added advantage;

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Information Communication Technology and related areas;

  • Excellent drafting ability, more particularly ability to present findings and conclusions in a clear and precise manner;

  • Conversant with
    various software applications and tools for data analysis and other similar research both on the internet and on other existing databases and libraries;

  • Advanced computer skills and Software Design and Development;

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure;

  • High initiative and organizational skills;

  • Being confidential;
